B&G JOINS AS OFFICIAL MARINE ELECTRONICS SUPPLIER

Enhancing innovation, performance, and sustainable development in modern navigation technology, 11th Hour Racing Team has joined forces with B&G, the world’s leading sailing electronics and instrument specialist.

Just in time for The Ocean Race Europe, the first major event of the season, we have sealed a new partnership to ensure our crew will be racing with the latest technology in marine electronics while continuing to push our ambitious sustainability goals. B&G, the world’s leading sailing navigation and instrument specialist, is coming onboard as our Official Marine Electronics Supplier, supporting our campaign in the build-up to The Ocean Race 2022-23.

Both our current IMOCA 60 and the new build, which will be launched in July 2021, will be fitted out with B&G’s cutting-edge technology including the latest B&G Nemesis displays.

Throughout the partnership, we will work closely with B&G to innovate, test new products, and collaborate on future technologies and sustainability initiatives. Driving technology, sailing performance, and navigational safety, are all common goals we share with B&G.

More importantly, we have a collective mission to improve ocean health, which we aim to emphasize throughout our collaboration. A major part here will be played by BioBase, a technology provided by B&G that directly supports our objective to protect our aquatic environments. Operated under their sister brand C-MAP, BioBase is a unique mapping solution for monitoring vegetation densities, bottom hardness, and other water quality characteristics, collecting valuable data to research and improve the health of wetland habitats, waterways, and fisheries.

“B&G are extremely proud to be supporting 11th Hour Racing Team. We recently added sustainability as one of our long-term B&G core pillars and look forward to our own sustainability journey ahead. So partnering with the team, in their mission to promote change, benefitting the health of our ocean, and for success in the next edition of The Ocean Race 2022/23, makes for an exciting and perfect partnership.”

Simon Conder, Head of Global Brand, B&G

“For race-proven and reliable onboard electronics, our only choice was B&G. Our mission is to develop a high-performance sports team utilizing the best technologies and innovations while working with brands and partners to drive positive change within the industry for the health of our ocean. B&G are the perfect partners for us: we look forward to collaborating with them on this and many other projects in the future.”

Mark Towill, CEO of 11th Hour Racing Team

Currently based in Brittany, France, we’ll start at The Ocean Race Europe, the first major offshore race after a long break from competing, on May 29. The three-week-long tour from the Atlantic Coast through the Mediterranean Sea will be an excellent opportunity to test B&G’s onboard equipment in action. After that, we will head back to our training facilities in Brittany, France, to prepare both boats for the 2021 Rolex Fastnet Race in August, followed by The Défi Azimut in September, finishing the season with the Transact Jacques Vabre from France to the Caribbean Island of  Martinique.
