I started sailing age 12 on Waiheke Island and joined the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron Youth Training Programme at 15, which launched me into keelboat sailing like so many other professional sailors from New Zealand.
HOW DO YOU LEAD A MORE SUSTAINABLE LIFESTYLE?
I never go anywhere without my reusable drink bottle and I air dry my laundry. I always take my reusable bags to the supermarket, including fruit bags. I try to encourage friends and family to think about their choices and the impact these choices have on the environment.
