WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE WAY TO CONNECT WITH THE OCEAN?

A walk along the beach in Brittany at sundown.

IF YOU WERE A MARINE ANIMAL WHAT WOULD YOU BE?

Sea otter. I went snorkeling with a few in New Zealand once and they were so playful but also inventive. Did you know they are a member of the weasel family and are one of only a few mammals to use tools?

SHARE A FUN FACT ABOUT YOU AND SAILING:

My greatest sailing achievement? Providing entertainment for my kids a I bombed across Largs Harbour in Scotland in a Pico in 15 knots. It was entertaining for them, and terrifying for me!

Being creative and getting inspiration from nature on how we should live our lives.

How do you live a more sustainable lifestyle?

By trying to lead by example. Gift-giving is a good time to create a conversation with friends and family. I always try to shop local, reuse wrapping paper and ribbons (decorated brown paper always looks great), and buy second hand when possible. I think people can be really surprised at what great items there are in charity or local artisan shops.

How do you encourage others to lead a more sustainable life?

By trying to listen, learn and constant tweaking of how we live our day to day lives.
